EASTER TIME

Easter is the biggest feast of the Christian world. The feast starts on Sunday of the Resurrection of Our Lord. All Church rejoice that Christ rose from the dead. Joyance from the resurrection is celebrated for fifty days. We can see it also on Sundays called after Easter time. In the calendar which was modified during the second Vatican council the expresion the second Sunday after Easter etc. is not used any more, but those days are called the second Easter Sunday, the third Easter Sunday…

During the Sunday masses the passage from the first letter of St. John or from the first letter of St. Peter. From these texts we can feel the joyance of the belief in Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead, and also the strong hope which formed the life of the first Christian communities.

Solemn ornamented candle, called paschal, also reminds us of Easter joyance. The candle firstly lights up at the night of ordinance of Easter vigils and it shines during all the Easter masses. It is always close to the place where the evangel – the light of the world - is gospelled from.       

Community of believers also rejoice that during the Easter night of resurrection, the adults preparing for baptism for the whole year, were baptized. Easter is then the first days when they can fully feel their belief and deeper and wider know the Goïs love to all the people.
