EASTER TIME
Easter is the biggest feast of the Christian world. The feast starts on
Sunday of the Resurrection of Our Lord. All Church
rejoice that Christ rose from the dead. Joyance from the
resurrection is celebrated for fifty days. We can see it
also on Sundays called after Easter time. In the
calendar which was modified during the second Vatican
council the expresion the second Sunday after Easter
etc. is not used any more, but those days are called the
second Easter Sunday, the third Easter Sunday…
During the Sunday masses the passage from the first letter of St. John
or from the first letter of St. Peter. From these texts
we can feel the joyance of the belief in Jesus Christ,
who rose from the dead, and also the strong hope which
formed the life of the first Christian communities.
Solemn ornamented candle, called paschal, also reminds us of Easter
joyance. The candle firstly lights up at the night of
ordinance of Easter vigils and it shines during all the
Easter masses. It is always close to the place where the
evangel – the light of the world - is gospelled from.
Community of believers also
rejoice that during the Easter night of resurrection,
the adults preparing for baptism for the whole year,
were baptized. Easter is then the first days when they
can fully feel their belief and deeper and wider know
the Goïs love to all the people. |
